About the Oslo Scholars Program: The Oslo Scholars Program, an initiative of the the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts University and the Human Rights Foundation, seeks to offer undergraduate students who have a demonstrated interest in human rights and international political issues an opportunity to attend the Oslo Freedom Forum and work with some of the world’s leading human rights defenders. The Program will provide students with invaluable networking opportunities as well as intensive, hands-on summer research and internships with selected speakers from around the world.

About the Oslo Freedom Forum: The Forum is an annual event put on by the Human Rights Foundation, with generous support from Civitas, the City of Oslo and a variety of international and Norwegian institutions. The Economist called the 2010 Forum "a spectacular human-rights festival" and described it as "on its way to becoming a human-rights equivalent of the Davos economic forum." Standpoint magazine says that the Oslo Freedom Forum "provides an intimate space for dissidents and human rights defenders from around the world to meet each other, to talk to internet entrepreneurs, academics, politicians, journalists and to draw inspiration and encouragement.”
