Kristen Lueck (’16)

Kristen is a senior majoring in Economics and International Relations with a concentration in Global Health. She grew up in London, England but has lived for the past ten years in Concord, Mass. Her family is from all over, so she has grown up with a love for travel and an interest in other cultures. After deferring from Tufts before her freshman year and living in Northern India for five months, Kristen basically fell in love. She joined BUILD after discovering she could talk about India for more than an hour a week and people would stop judging her for it. On the side, Kristen loves graphic design, running, and sushi.

Shobhita Narain (’16)

Former trip team member (Summer 2013 & Winter 2014)

Shobhita Narain is a junior planning on majoring in Biology. She joined BUILD last year as a freshman and is interested in sustainable development projects in rural areas of India especially in the spheres of community health and sanitation, women empowerment and education. After interning with ACF, the corporate social responsibility wing of Ambuja Cement in India, she was inspired by the positive change self help groups, women health functionaries and municipality schools were engaged in. She went on the Summer 2013 BUILD trip to Thottiyapatti and was part of the group that helped form the village youth leadership club, administered the learning center evaluations for further improvement in the education of the school children and initiating discussions on community health clubs and a village health worker. Her interests include reading classical literature, creative writing, painting, eating and sleeping.
