She spent a year in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, where she further explored her interest in issues concerning diaspora, transnationalism and anti-colonial modes of thought. She also has a keen interest in learning, in theory or in practice, art forms from different disciplines, eras and cultural backgrounds, and hence has spent time training in traditional theater forms such as Noh and Kunqu, to further inform her own projects both in and out of academia.
