This group will have a focus on social, political, historical and economic affairs, with a special focus on current issues facing the South Asian subcontinent. "India-China Relations: Discussing Foreign Policy with Former Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran."
This talk explores Sino-Indian dynamics that are presently afoot at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). We are privileged to have former Foreign Secretary of India Mr. Shyam Saran speak on this topic.
This discussion hopes to provide a nuanced understanding of the diplomatic relations between India and China in light of the standoff at the border. The mobilization of significant Chinese soldiers and military equipment on the LAC has markedly increased tensions between the two countries. While military and diplomatic engagements are ongoing, it is unclear how the conflict is going to unfold. In this interaction, Ambassador Saran explores the past, present and future of India-China relations.
