The talk will be followed by a screening of Summer Pasture, an award-winning documentary focusing on the changes semi-nomadic yak herding communities in Kham, southeastern Tibet, face due to the changing pace of development and globalization within this community.
A distinguished expert panel surveys the Iran Nuclear Deal, otherwise known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Panelists will address such questions as: Will it pave or block Iran’s path to nuclear weapons? What are the verification issues? What will be the implication of the lifting of sanctions? Benjamin Pogrund has lived and worked in Israel for the last 15 years. He is the founder of the Yakar Center for Social Concern, which is dedicated to fostering dialogue among Israel’s many different religious communities. He has also written for Haaretz. While and INSPIRE Fellow at the Tufts Institute for Global Leadership, he began his work on his most recent book, Drawing Fire: Investigating the Accusations of Apartheid in Israel. Pogrund is also a recipient of the Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award from the Institute.
