This coming Wednesday, we welcome Dr. Chris Buckley from the New York Times to talk about his experience as a foreign journalist working in China.
Dr Chris Buckley is a journalist at the New York Times and has over two decades of reporting experience in China. He covers Chinese politics, social and environmental issues, and lately Xinjiang region in western China. Dr Buckley attended the University of Sydney, received a doctorate in Chinese studies from Australian National University, and studied Chinese Communist Party history at Renmin University in Beijing. Before working for the Times’ Beijing bureau, he reported for Reuters. Earlier this May, he was forced to leave China amidst a tit-for-tat media war between the US and China.
