MERG: Negotiation Simulation AND Working in the State Departmen
MERG will be hosting Danny Stoian (in person). He will be spending half of the time speaking about his career at the State Department and answering any questions relating to his experience, then he will be leading a short negotiation simulation activity with us! Danny Stoian is currently a Fellow with the Negotiation Task Force at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard and most recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Legislative Affairs Bureau at the U.S. Department of State. Previously he served as the Deputy Executive Director in the South Central Asia Bureau, overseeing the operations of 27 SCA missions and 17 domestic offices across NEA and SCA. As a Foreign Service Officer, he has served in both reporting and management positions in Saudi Arabia, Rwanda, Tunisia, and Bahrain. In Washington D.C. he worked in the Operations Center and as Special Assistant to the Undersecretary for Management. Prior to government service, he worked in management consulting. He received his Master’s of public administration at Harvard University, and studied computer science engineering and international relations at the University of California at Davis.
