Allies weekly discussion: The Future of Ethiopia

In early November, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia ordered a military offensive against the government of Tigray, a region of Ethiopia ruled by the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF). Ethiopia has since plunged into a civil war, leading to extreme violence in the Tigray region between TPLF forces and Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF).
