Combatting White Supremacy in the US Military

Next Wednesday December 9th, ALLIES, CIVIC, Tufts Democrats will be co-hosting a special speaking event. We will have the honor of hosting Lecia Brooks from the Southern Poverty Law Center. Recently, Ms. Brooks appeared before the US House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel to testify on the growing prevalence of White Supremacy in the US military. Ms. Brooks will discuss why lawmakers are no longer prioritizing combating white extremism in the military, how the growing presence of white supremacists affects military culture and civ-mil relations, and what steps need to be taken to combat this issue. No prior experience or knowledge is needed. Ms. Brooks' presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. We hope that you all can attend!
