Please join Tufts Friends of Israel, in partnership with the Institute for Global Leadership for, "An Evening with Benjamin Pogrund." Benjamin Pogrund is a South African-born Israeli author and journalist. He was deputy editor of South Africa's leading newspaper, the Rand Daily Mail in Johannesburg, which was closed down because of its unrelenting opposition to apartheid. He is an esteemed player in the South African apartheid struggle who withstood government security investigations, underwent political trials because of his reports on abusive prison conditions, and imprisonment for refusing to disclose a source of information. He has lived in Israel for 17 years and was founder-director of a dialogue center in Jerusalem. He is co-editor of Shared Histories: A Palestinian-Israeli Dialogue and is a member of the Palestine-Israel Journal editorial board. His new book is Drawing Fire: Investigating the accusations of apartheid in Israel. The event will be held Wednesday November 4th at 7:15 at Tufts Hillel. We would love to see you there!
