The IGL is co-sponsoring a screening of the documentary The Diplomat.

THE DIPLOMAT tells the remarkable story of the life and legacy of Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, whose singular career spans fifty years of American foreign policy from Vietnam to Afghanistan. Told through the perspective of his eldest son David, the documentary takes you behind the scenes of high stakes diplomacy where peace is waged and wars are ended. The film was released in 2015, the 20th anniversary of Holbrooke’s crowning achievement: the Dayton Peace Accords which ended the war in Bosnia.

Following the film, there will also be a Q & A session with David Holbrooke, the film's director.

Richard Holbrooke received the Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award from the Institute for Global Leadership in 2010.  As Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke hired EPIIC Alumnus Daniel Feldman as his deputy, and he is also in the documentary.  Amb. Feldman later became the SRAP after Amb. Holbrooke's death.

Co-sponsors include: Tisch College of Civic Life, The Fletcher School, Peace and Justice Studies, the International Relations Program, and Film and Media Studies.
