Come and meet the new director of the Institute for Global Leadership, Dr. Abi Williams, and join us for a reception and discussion on building sustainable peace in war-torn countries.  Abi will also discuss his initial plans for the IGL and the 2017-18 EPIIC theme: Is the Liberal World Order Ending?

Dr. Abi Williams, F85, FG87, brings 30 years of experience in leadership roles in the varied worlds of think tanks, the United Nations, and academia to the Institute for Global Leadership and to The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy as Professor of the Practice of International Politics. He comes to Tufts after a four-year term as the inaugural President of The Hague Institute for Global Justice, where he spearheaded its development into a vibrant think-and-do tank, working on issues at the critical intersection of peace, security, and justice.  Prior to leading the Hague Institute, Abi served at the United States Institute of Peace as Senior Vice President of the Center for Conflict Management and was Director of Strategic Planning for United Nations Secretaries-General Ban Ki-Moon and Kofi Annan in New York. While at Tufts, he was involved in the first EPIIC program on international terrorism.

Please join us at this special event for IGL alumni.  Beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.  Hosted by EPIIC Alum and Warbey Parker Co-Founder Neil Blumenthal.
