The New Initiative for Middle East Peace (NIMEP) is a collaborative research group studying the Middle East and North Africa. NIMEP is a non-polemical, student think-tank and outreach initiative devoted to exploring progressive solutions to historic and emerging conflicts in the Middle East.

Come join the ALLIES weekly discussion on the re-alignment of the Middle East as Israel and Sunni Gulf states ally together against Iran as well if the United States needs to seriously reconsider its relationship with Saudi Arabia. Joining us will be professor Hayat Alvi, Professor of international relations at the Naval War College and a former Assistant Professor of Political Science at American University in Cairo. Professor Alvi has written extensively on the Sunni-Shia rivalry and is an expert on comparative politics and American foreign policy in the Middle East.
