ALLIES and Women in International Relations (WIIR) will be co-hosting a virtual internship panel where Tufts alumni will discuss how their internship experiences have enhanced their career prospects, how they navigated the internship search process, and how they found opportunities in their fields of interest. Joining us on the panel are Eva Kahan (ALLIES, EPIIC), a research assistant at ISW, Shaan Shaikh (ALLIES, EPIIC), a research associate at CSIS, and Rolland Gillah (ALLIES, EPIIC), a negotiator with the Mercy Corp).

Peace-Building in a Pandemic

ALLIES will be hosting a special speaking event titled "Peace-Building in a Pandemic" this Wednesday at 12 PM EST. We have the honor to host Britt Sloan, IGL Alum (ALLIES, EPIIC, PNDP) and former Mercy Corps member, and Sharon Ogbogu, a Program Officer at Mercy Corps. Using Nigeria as a case-study, Ms. Sloan and Ms. Ogbogu will discuss how the fight against COVID-19 has derailed peace-building efforts in some African states.

SURGE: Japanese Foreign Policy Post-Abe (Nicholas Szechenyi, CSIS)

What is Prime Minister Abe Shinzo’s legacy on Japanese foreign policy? What does his departure mean for Japan and the region’s future? This Tuesday, we welcome Mr. Nicholas Szechenyi to talk about Japan's Post-Abe future. Mr. Szechenyi is Deputy Director of the Japan Chair and Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), one of the most prestigious foreign policy think tanks in the US. His research focuses on U.S.-Japan relations and U.S.-East Asia relations.
