1:00pm - 4:00pm
Location
Sophia-Gordon Multipurpose Room
Program
Amnesty International
Take a study break to join Tufts Amnesty International, Tufts Culinary Society and Fletcher's Culinary Diplomacy for our annual Write for Rights event, now featuring hot beverages and foods from the countries highlighted in this year's cases!
Sign letters in support of human rights while enjoying tea and cakes from Malaysia, Syria, El Salvador, and many other nations with individuals and communities facing HR abuses. We hope to share in the unifying and community-building action of cooking and eating together while educating about human rights and working to defend those at risk.
BRING YOUR OWN MUG like you would at the Rez and get cool Amnesty swag! We'll have Abuelita hot chocolate, Arabic coffee, hibiscus tea, and a ton of other drinks to keep you cozy and caffeinated before finals.
Cases include Phyoe Phyoe Aung, a student leader who was arrested after organizing a largely peaceful protest in Myanmar, and Teodora del Carmen Vasquez, who was sentenced to 30 years for homicide under El Salvador's abortion ban after suffering a still-birth. To learn more about the cases that will be featured, visit the Write for Rights website and join us on Sunday!
