ALLIES Civil-Military Relations Conference-Cybersecurity and Geopolitics
The 2019 Civil-Military Relations Conference will be held on November 9th-10th, 2019. This is an annual conference focusing on security, foreign policy, and civil-military issues; and is organized by the Tufts Alliance Linking Leaders in Education and the Services (ALLIES) in conjunction with the Institute for Global Leadership (IGL).
This year’s conference theme is Cybersecurity and Geopolitics and will feature two panel discussions on the historical development of cyber and its implications on the defense domain. The conference will also include an interactive crisis simulation, in which participants will engage as delegates of countries and private sector entities in a scenario relating to the conference theme. Past conference themes include environmental impacts on security policy, international arms trade and military interventions, and the challenges of hybrid warfare. Participants have traditionally comprised students from both Tufts and colleges around the Boston area, as well as cadets/midshipmen from the various military and service academies.
