Education for Public Inquiry and International Citizenship. Through innovative and rigorous curricula and projects, EPIIC prepares young people to play active roles in their communities, whether at the local, national or global level.
EPIIC (Education for Public Inquiry and International Citizenship), a yearlong course of the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts, is a carefully integrated, multidisciplinary program that focuses on a different topic of international importance each year, bringing in a broad range of speakers to the classroom throughout the year and providing students the opportunities to design and enact an international symposium, film series, and other programming on campus.
Miguel Ángel Moratinos Cuyaubé has committed his professional and political activity to international relationships and development cooperation. He was born in Madrid on the 8th of June 1951 and studied at the Madrid French Lyceum. He graduated in Law and Political Sciences at the University Complutense in Madrid, and then in Diplomatic Studies at the Spanish Diplomatic School. He entered Spain’s diplomatic service in March 1977. He is a father of three and is married to Dominique Maunac.

Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg served as Minister of Economics and Technology and then as Minister of Defense in the cabinet of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. As the youngest Defense Minister in German history, he led the most significant structural reform of the German armed forces since the Bundeswehr’s founding.

When a young Arab is arrested and beaten unconscious by police, a riot erupts in the notoriously violent suburbs outside of Paris. Three of the victim's peers, Vinz (Vincent Cassel), Said (Said Taghmaoui) and Hubert (Hubert Koundé), wander aimlessly about their home turf in the aftermath of the violence as they try to come to grips with their outrage over the brutal incident. After one of the men finds a police officer's discarded weapon, their night seems poised to take a bleak turn.
Ethan Corbin is the Director of the Defence and Security Committee, NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He completed his doctorate in international relations at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in May, 2013. His dissertation developed a theory of state alignment with external armed groups, which he tested with a longitudinal case study of Syria’s use of the Palestinian and Lebanese armed groups from 1963 to 2010.
