Inès Ayyadi

Inès Ayyadiis enrolled in the International Relations and Crisis Management Master’s program at Sciences Po Toulouse. She has a deep interest in geopolitics and wants to focus on European Union security policies and the process of labelling a phenomenon as an issue.EPIIC represents an outstanding opportunity to broaden her knowledge about migration beyond European borders. She looksforward to debating with students from various backgrounds as well as learning from this experience. Outside of her studies, Inèsworks as a volunteer for organizations such as the Human Rights League and has been involved in several COP simulations which has given her a greater awareness of the importance of cooperation in bringing a solution to specific issues.

Antoine Boucharenc

Antoine Boucharenc is a 22-year-old French student who grew up in southwestern France. He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Relatons at Sciences Po Toulouse, a French Political Studies Institute. He is specializing in international crisis management and migration phenomena, particularly in East Africa and the Middle East. Fascinated by anthropology, sociology, but also geography and history, he critiques and focuses his research on the processes of Western ethnocentrism, post-colonialism, and on the issues emanating from state-building. He also has a versatile profile, including a 2-year intensive literary foundation degree, and a double degree from the Toulouse Business School, where he obtained a Master's degree in Strategy and Consulting last year. Very curious and talkative, always full of enthusiasm, Antoine is very sporty, having been a former young top-level rugby athlete. He speaks French, English and Spanish. He lived in Barcelona for 6 months as part ofhis studies last year, and he is always ready to travel. Antoine seeks to enhance his knowledge on international migration during this symposium, by meeting specialists from all over the world who are directly confronted with these issues.

Leïla Antier Cárdenas

Leila is a Master’s student studying International Relations at Sciences Po Toulouse in the South of France. Her dual nationality-French and Mexican-has proven to be a valuable asset. Since a very young age, Leila has shown great interest in other cultures. She was raised by both of her parents to be a citizen of the world and to accept difference as well as to adapt to different contexts. She hopes to pursue an international career in human rights or dealing with environmental issues. Her university coursework has led her to do different internships in Asia in the human rights field. If she had to define herself, it would be as a utopist in need of fulfilling her purpose in life: working for and giving to the more vulnerable, as well as supporting, promoting and being part of environmental initiatives. Aside from her studies, she enjoys doing volunteer work abroad, and she loves music, independent cinema, as well as politically-engaged movies and documentaries. Finally, she believes that the best therapy is a nice landscape and being surrounded by nature.

Lorraine Gruber

Lorraine is a fourth-year student at the Institute of Political Sciences ofToulouse, in France. She is currently doing her Master’s in InternationalRelations and Crisis Management. During the 2017-2018 academicyear, she went onan exchange program: during the frst semester, shedid an internship in the Alliance Française in Italy (Turin), and in thesecond semester she participated in an Erasmus student exchange inthe Czech Republic (Prague). This exchange was an opportunity for herto study and observe the diversity of the world, but it also consolidatedher goal of pursuing a diplomatic career. Indeed, she wants to work inan international organization in order to participate in the managementand the resolution of international crisis. This is why she is interested inparticipating in the Symposium, and looks forward to discussing andconfronting her point of view with other participants.

Thomas Hortala

Thomas is a Master’s student at Sciences Po Toulouse in France. He is specializing in International Crisis Management and is currently working on a research project focusing on climate migration. He takes big issues like climate change and mass migration to heart and enjoys engaging with them both through his academic endeavors and his extra-curricular commitments. Traveling and studying abroad (in the United Kingdom and Germany) helped him develop an extended curiosity for other cultures and languages. He believes that everyone, especially those in the academic and political fields, would be considerably better off by exchanging with people outside of their national borders, as it is always an opportunity to question one’s certainties. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, listening to music and reading books.

Chloé Latronico

Chloé is in her fourth year at Sciences Po Toulouse in France and is studying International relations and crisis management. She is actively engaged in the fight for gender equality, intersectionality and human rights, believing that these are core problems in international dynamics and crises. Chloé intends to advocate for these matters and discuss how they are linked to migration. Thanks to her experience of studying abroad in Canada and Norway, she understands her belonging to a globalized youth that is growing across the globe whilst becoming a vector of change and hope. EPIIC would therefore be the opportunity for her to put into perspective different approaches to the phenomenon of migration thanks to the variety of participants. She is looking forward to meeting other students and exchanging diverse opinions.

Candice Leroy

Candice is currently undergoing her first year of a Master’s program in nternational Crisis Managementat Sciences Po Toulouse. Candice is passionate about human rights and social justice, and got involved during her year abroad with a Cypriot NGO providing legal aid to asylum seekers and migrant workers. She is currently volunteering fora French association which assists unrecognized migrant minors. She speaks French, English and Spanish, and loves travelling. She believes discovering new cultures and sharing with people is an opportunity to challenge her beliefs and enhance her knowledge about the world.

Léa Merville

Léa is a Master’sstudentat Sciences Po Toulouse in France. She is studying International Relations with a focus on crisis management. In 2017 she interned at the Middle East Forum in Philadelphia before participating in a seven-month student exchange program at Ben Gurion University of Be’er Sheva, in Israel. This combined experience provided her with knowledge on Israeli history as well as a more profound understanding of some political and environmental middle eastern issues. This year’s EPIIC topic seems to her extremely engaging as migration is an ongoing and urgent mater. She is eager to learn more about it from all the speakers and the participants and hopes to be able to bring her own perspective to the discussions.

Auriane Segol

Aurianeis in her fourth year at Sciences Po Toulouse in France. She is currently doing a Master’s degree in International Relations and Crisis Management. Last year (2017-2018), she participated in a two-semester exchange program, one at Tongji University in Shanghai (China) and the other at Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina), both majoring in international relations. Her area of study, as well as the fact of living in such different countries, provided her with an awareness of the diversity and the complexity of the world that she is a part of. Moreover, it made her want to better acquaint herself with this world in order to play a role in it. Towards this end, she wants to become a lawyer specializing in international law. In order to achieve her ambition, she intends on doing another Master’s degree in International Law. She is indeed strongly guided by humanistic ideals as well as an aversion for injustice. Furthermore, she deeply considers that dialogue and the exchange of ideas and points of view are essential in order to see and understand all the perspectives in a situaton. This is what she seeks in participating in the 2019 EPIIC, and she hopes to have a truly rewarding experience.

Florine Taupin

Florine Taupin is a French student specializing in International Relations and Crisis Management, currently in her fourth year at Sciences Po Toulouse. She spent a year abroad in 2017/2018, attending both Dickinson College (Pennsylvania, USA) and the University of Nottingham in England. Through these academic exchanges, she has developed a strong interest in migration issues and has also experienced for herself the value of intercultural exchanges. In order to pursue this process of inter-cultural exchanges, Florine is currentlyworking at the Dickinson in France Center, where she is helping American students adapt to life in Toulouse. She also loves travelling, which makes her eager to return to the United States and meet students from all over the world to discuss migration and deepen her understanding ofthis topic.

Marie Vadronick

Marie is a Master’s student at Sciences Po Toulouse in France studying International Crisis Management. In particular, she has a great interest in the refugee crisis due to climate change and she is currently working on a research project focusing on UN policies regarding the situation of the displaced in the wake of natural disaster. As a member of UNICEF in Toulouse, she believes that the violation of migrant children’s rights is another important topic to discuss during this symposium. In her opinion, EPIIC will provide a great opportunity to put into practice her academic skillset, but above all to learn from other participants’ viewpoints related to international migrations. Marie has already had the chance to be involved in an international setting, first as an intern in the Canadian Parliament, and then as an exchange student at the University of Limerick in Ireland. She is looking forward to being a part of EPIIC and aspires to meet people from largely diverse nationalities and cultures. Marie enjoys reading, traveling and listening to music in her free time.
