We are very excited about the upcoming year for IGL!  EPIIC will be tackling “Is the Liberal World Order Ending?”; ALLIES will be holding its annual civil-military conference on the defense industry and the global arms trade; Engineers Without Borders has started two new projects in Malawi and Nicaragua; BUILD Latin America has started two new projects in Ecuador and Honduras; NIMEP is exploring issues from Yemen’s colonial past to the use of information technology in promoting the growth of small- and medium enterprises in the region; and the list goes on…IGL students continue to be actively learning about, and engaging with, challenging issues.

As IGL continues its mission providing transformational experiences for students, alumni support will be crucial to our success.

To help accomplish many of the goals for IGL, Brad Bernstein, A89, former EPIIC student in the “Drugs, International Security and US Public Policy” year, and IGL supporter has generously offered to match gifts from IGL alumni, up to $100,000, made by June 30, 2018.

“At this moment when the world seems desperate for well-developed leaders, I look to IGL to provide a vision for the future. This community is one that I am glad to have belonged to. It stands for responsible leadership; thoughtful, nuanced diplomacy; and socially-conscious innovation—the best education we can provide for the next generation of creators, executives and policy setters. Just as importantly, IGL gives students the opportunity to pursue their questions and ideas around the world. My own experiences as a student of EPIIC have informed my world view, made me a better, more engaged global citizen, and have taught me how to think critically and examine issues in ways that have served me well in my career. I wish the same for many more students at Tufts!”

We’re asking everyone to PARTICIPATE! to be able to continue to provide these opportunities for the next generation. Every gift of any size helps.  A gift that is meaningful to you makes a great impact on our ability to provide significant experiences and opportunities for IGL students, from organizing on-campus events to venturing globally to pursue research or internships.

IGL’s New Director Abi Williams (EPIIC’86) said, “Brad Bernstein is an inspiring and respected member of our IGL family.  A leader in the private sector, many organizations have benefited from his wisdom and experience, as well as his kindness.  His generosity will ensure that current and future IGL students, who come to Tufts from across the globe, will also have the knowledge, skill, judgment and vision to lead in a turbulent world.  I urge you to make a gift to IGL which has given us an excellent education and a global perspective. With your support IGL will excel, as it has for three decades, in preparing ethical and effective global leaders for lives of service.”

We ask you to reflect on your IGL experience and help build the future of the IGL!

The challenge match ends on June 30, 2018 – Come join us!
